
Whalom Canine Connection is a multifaceted business, based on the talents and expertise in breeding, training, and exhibiting purebred dogs. Christi grew up with Boston Terriers in the 1950s, and they have been part of her life since childhood. Inspired by Whalom Amusement Park, Christi began breeding and showing Boston Terriers with the kennel name of Whalom in 1985. She has always been involved in obedience and conformation showing, and added a second breed, the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, in 2007.
Now located in Ashburnham, MA, Christi has expanded her experience and love for dogs to include training in obedience, field, and agility performance events, canine massage, and Judging. Added to her skills and accomplishments are AKC Breeder of Merit for Boston Terriers, AKC Judge for conformation and Junior Showmanship, and UKC Field Judge. All of Christi’s dogs are owner trained and handled. Christi has finished 19 Boston Terriers as AKC Champions, 3 Canadian Champions, and 3 Bermuda Champions. She has put Obedience Titles on 3 Boston Terriers and 2 Tollers, as well as multiple Field Titles on her Tollers. She has earned the Admiral Halsey H.O.T. Award for owner training and handling for Field Titles. She has out AKC Championships on her Tollers Turner and Nadia. Her newest addition, Alden, is getting ready for his debut in the breed ring.

Christi believes in natural rearing, sound nutrition, exercise, and training as building blocks for a healthy, sound dog. She feeds a raw diet with Fastrack® Canine Supplements to support her dogs’ overall health and immunity. She also believes in limiting exposure to toxins and preservatives and has a limited vaccination protocol.
She brings her energy and knowledge of communication, behavioral techniques, and teaching techniques to working with her dogs.
In “real life”, Christi is a Speech-Language Pathologist, a Massage Therapist, and a Fashion Consultant.
